Solar help for existing systems and new projects

Not every solar problem calls for a new installation. An existing system may need an inverter, a communications repair, a monitoring update or professional diagnosis. Start with the issue you actually have.

Orphaned Solar Systems

If your installer went out of business, you can still seek service, monitoring support and manufacturer warranty assistance from another qualified company.

Important California Solar Changes

Today's solar economics deserve a fresh look

Export credits are not what they used to be

Under California's Net Billing Tariff, often called NEM 3.0, export credits for new participating customers of Southern California Edison, PG&E and SDG&E are generally much lower than the retail electricity rate. That makes the timing of energy use and the value of battery storage more important.

Existing customers may be under older tariffs. Municipal utilities, including Glendale Water & Power, Pasadena Water & Power and Burbank Water & Power, have their own programs. Your actual utility and tariff must be checked.

The federal homeowner credit has ended

The federal 30% Residential Clean Energy Credit is not available for homeowner-purchased systems installed after December 31, 2025. Do not rely on older online estimates that still subtract a 30% credit from a 2026 homeowner purchase.

Financing, local incentives, utility programs, and commercial tax treatment are different questions and should be evaluated individually. No savings amount or incentive eligibility should be assumed without checking the current rules.

Useful first step

Collect a recent electric bill, any available solar production history and the make/model of your inverter. Those details can help a qualified installer determine whether you need repair, additional storage or a new system design.
